ASIAGRAPH 2009 CG Art Gallery-Guideline for Application

ASIAGRAPH organizes “CG Art Gallery” as a platform for arts exhibition, so as to encourage the cross-border exchange between excellent CG artists, to nurture and to promote new creations and a new industry in Asia.
- Division I: “CG Art Gallery” ---public subscription for CG Arts
- Division II: “CG Animation Theater”---public subscription for Animation
- Division III: Student under Age 25--- public subscription for Animation
- Division IV: Kids CG Competition
Different from other competitions, we at ASIAGRAPH's CG Art Gallery highly evaluate CG expression which is unique to Asia. That does not mean we put importance on Asia-unique themes but we appreciate such styles of expression as are unique and have visual attraction even if they might not be evaluated highly from the conventional standpoint of the existing art or movie/image industry.
Division I: "CG Art Gallery" ---public subscription for CG Arts
- Application Period:

From 2009 June 10th (Wed) to 2009 August
10th (Mon)31st (Mon) - Requirements:

- The work to be an original CG work made in 2008 or later.
- The applicant to be a person who was born, currently lives or has nationality in Asia or an organization which has its nationality in Asia. Both amateur and professional creators are accepted.
- There are two category titles, “Still Picture Category” and “Other Categories.” For “Other Categories,” any form of work, a still image, interactive work, three-dimensional object, an output from other materials except paper , or installation can be submitted.
- Those works that have been selected as winners at other competitions, published or used for commercial advertisement, TV broadcasting, web distribution, etc. can be submitted with permission from the right holder.
- One applicant can submit three or less works.

The subscribed works would be screened by the ASIAGRAPH CG Art Gallery selection committees.
- Announcement of Selection Results:

Winners will be announced on this website.
- Privileges for the Winners:
-
Winning works will be exhibited at ASIAGRAPH CG Art Gallery.
As to exhibition of winner works:
- Space on a wall or in the exhibition area is reserved for wining works
- Regular still image photographs will be printed out and exhibited by the organizers and no expense will be asked to be paid by the applicants.
- If the work, such as special composition, needs equipment or a structure to be transported when the work gets exhibited or while it is being exhibited, all the expenses for the equipment, structure, labor, etc. to be paid by the applicant. Or the applicant himself/herself can use his/her own equipment, structure (if they are considered appropriate by the organizers) and labor on at a timing specified by the organizers.
- Financial assistance for the cost of submission and exhibition expense is possible if the applicant is under age, a student, lives outside of the country or has other special situations that have to be considered. The decision about the assistance is to be made by the organizers.
- Remarks:

- As to works for "Other Categories", such as three-dimensional objects, information about the work is quite important for the selection consideration. Therefore, please be sure the information is complete avoiding calls from the organizers asking questions.
- Artists are expected to bring in the works to the exhibition site at specified time.
- The number of winners in "Others Categories” this year will be three because of the limited exhibition space.

Prepare your work and documents according to the following:
Still Picture Category:
- Size for image capture of the work: the width should be within the rage of 480 to 640 pixels, but the height is not specified.
- Any work with height or width larger than 640 pixels, the file would be automatically compressed.
- CG Work: the width should be within the rage of 480 to 640 pixels, but the height is not specified. Please be reminded that any work with height or width larger than 640 pixels, the file would be automatically compressed.
- Contact: Indicate the e-mail address where you can be contacted without fail.
- Applicant’s Profile: On the premise of disclosure, please summarized concisely the general outline of the subscribed work , its time length, and the past record of works been created within 70 words.
Other Categories:
- Drawing: The structure, movement and exhibition plan of the exhibit object should be illustrated. The size of the digital drawing should be 640 pixels in width X 480 pixels in height.
- Image of the object: The size to be 640 pixels in width X 480 pixels in height.
- Contact: Indicate the e-mail address where you can be contacted
- Profile of the applicant: On the premise of disclosure, please summarized concisely the general outline of subscribed work, and the past record of works been created and released within 70words.
